The Bull Run Cloggers, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Appalachian Clogging. We have a Board of Directors and several committees that perform day-to-day group operations. We are members of and partially funded by the Prince William County Arts Council. We are licensed by ASCAP and BMI.
The Bull Run Cloggers, Inc. was founded in 1984. In 1989 we had four dancers. Since then we have grown by leaps and bounds. Each year gets bigger and better. In 1995 and 1999, we performed at Walt Disney World. These performances were experiences we will never forget and hope to repeat. We have made 5 appearances in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. We also danced at the 1996 Olympic Torch Run in Dale City and at many Statler Brothers Fourth of July Celebrations. For the past several years we have looked forward to ending the year with a performance at the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. We dance at fairs and festivals all over Northern Virginia, including the Prince William County Fair and Manassas Heritage Railway Festival. In 2012 we were honored to participate in the Beethoven Found Tribute to the Wounded Warrior, which supports our injured service men and women and their families.
Many of our shows and exhibitions are performed as community service. We usually perform twenty-five to thirty shows per year. Thanksgiving usually finds at least a few of our members at the National Clogging Convention, learning more about clogging. You will also find our members at the Potomac Double Down Workshop which is sponsored by Bull Run Cloggers, Inc and held each February.
Our members love the rush of adrenaline as the audience applauds and the enthusiasm they add to the show. We also love spending our weekends “on the road again” and finding a network of friends to share our love of clogging.
