Betty Clayton

Betty was first introduced to clogging in 1982 when the Orange Cloggers performed at her local elementary school. She joined the group in the junior division and performed around the area at local venues.  In her teen and young adult years, Betty participated in competitions and has won many team trophies for her dancing and choreography in the Upper East Coast Clogging Championships in Maryland and the East Coast Clogging Championships in Chesapeake, Virginia.

You may have seen Betty perform at the Virginia State Fair, the Statler Brothers Tribute in Staunton, Virginia, the Apple Harvest Festival at Graves Mountain Lodge, the UVA Lions Club fundraiser in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Somerset Steam & Gas Festival, various local counties fairs and street festivals throughout the state of Virginia or even on a televised telethon.

Betty’s years with clogging have given her the opportunity to serve as an instructor, choreographer and director.  She enjoys both traditional and contemporary styles of clogging.  Betty is currently living in Triangle, Virginia and works as a flight attendant for United Airlines.  She looks forward to picking up the title of instructor again and spreading the joy of clogging to a new class of students.

Terry Guiffre

Terry was exposed to clogging when she and her two daughters watched as the Bull Run Clogger's performed at the annual Haymarket Day festival. A member of the Bull Run Clogger's since 1995, she has performed with the group in such varied locations as Disney World, Washington, D.C. on the 4th of July, and aboard Carnival Cruise ship, and various locations throughout the DMV.

Over the years she has served as Director, Choreographer, and Instructor for the group and as the Coordinator of the Potomac Double Down Clogging Workshop. As a former aerobics instructor, gymnast, and competitive twirler, she brings to clogging her experience in other choreographed performance groups, such as the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, the Cardinals Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Silvertones Majorette and Drum Corps, for which she served as a Co-Director and Instructor. She has also judged TV’s “Dance Fever” competition in Washington, D.C.

When she's not clogging or enjoying family time, Terry is an Instructional Technology Coach with Prince William County Schools where she coaches technology integration to her wonderfully inquisitive students and and staff.
